Corey Holms originally designed Brea for a T-shirt that was rejected by a client. He later reworked it and it was used on a holiday card for another client. Corey says he would “consider this typeface a remix, since it‘s constructed from black-letter typography.”
Corey used dot matrix to express “a once intensely manual, Old English hand,” which, interestingly, puts Brea squarely in the early 1980s.
