Monsieur La Doulaise Pro
Monsieur La Doulaise is one of nine calligraphic scripts in Ale Paul’s Bluemlein Script Pro Collection.
Charles Bluemlein created a series of of script alphabets in a 1944 booklet titled Script and Manuscript Lettering, which was published by the Higgins Ink Company as a promotional piece. Bluemlein based these alphabets on the signatures of friends and acquaintances, assigning fictitious names to each one. Ale Paul expanded and digitized them, and nine of the 32 faces are available in OpenType format.
Extreme care has been taken to render the scripts authentically, keeping the names originally assigned to them by Bluemlein.
